What is Cricket Scorer?

Cricket Scorer is a cricket scorer app for the games you actually play — Saturday afternoon on the rec, a Sunday morning 20-over at your local ground, or a knockabout in the park. It replaces the Notes app, the mental maths, and the "I'm sure I was on 40" debates with a proper ball-by-ball scorecard, real stats for every player, and a live link anyone can watch from wherever they are. It installs as a PWA — straight from your browser, no Play Store or App Store, no forced updates.

Live match scoring — how it works

One of you scores from a phone at the boundary. Everyone else just plays. Four steps:

  1. 1

    Set up the match

Pick teams, set the overs, record the toss — 5-over bash or a full Saturday 40, your rules.

  2. 2

    Score ball-by-ball

Runs, wickets, extras and overs update live as you tap.

  3. 3

    Share the live link

Drop it in the WhatsApp group — anyone who couldn't make it follows along live.

  4. 4

    Keep the scorecard

Every match is saved — the stats and the bragging rights are permanent.

Keep your whole group in one place

Add your regulars once, see who's available Saturday morning, and pick balanced teams in seconds. Every match anyone plays feeds their personal stats — so the group's all-time top scorer is on record, not just remembered wrong. Works just as well if you actually run a club.

Turn your fixtures into a proper league

Office cup, family summer series, a mates' Saturday league — create a tournament, add the fixtures, and the points table, net run rate, and standings update themselves as you score each match.

Stats that settle arguments

Every scored match feeds three stats layers automatically — no spreadsheet, no maths.

Match stats

Batting & bowling figures, run rate, partnerships — for every game you play.

Player & group stats

Averages, strike rates and form for every player in the group, across the whole season.

Tournament stats

Standings, net run rate, and top performers across your whole series or league.

No OBS · No laptop · No third-party software

Stream your match to the people who couldn't make it

Your mate moved up north, Dad's working a Saturday shift, the in-laws want to watch — Cricket Scorer streams to YouTube Live and Facebook Live using your RTMP key , with the live scorecard overlaid automatically. Same protocol as OBS, without needing OBS, a laptop encoder, or any third-party software. Paste your RTMP key, prop your phone at the boundary, and go live.

Stream setup

1 Paste your YouTube or Facebook RTMP key
2 Prop your phone up facing the pitch
3 Tap ● Go live — scorecard overlays automatically

Works offline, on any phone

Patchy signal at the rec? Score the whole match offline — everything saves on-device and syncs automatically when you're back online. And because Cricket Scorer is a PWA, it runs on Android, iPhone, and desktop from one codebase. Whoever's scoring just opens the link in their browser — no app store, no install prompt, no waiting.

From a park kickabout to a Saturday league

One-hand-one-bounce, last man stands, six-and-out — whatever rules your group plays on a Sunday morning, set them up in Cricket Scorer and score it properly. The same app scales up when you book a pitch, enter a local Saturday league, or organise a full round-robin tournament across the summer.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cricket Scorer free to use? +

Yes — scoring, group management and streaming are all free.

Does it work without internet? +

Yes. Scores save on-device and sync automatically when you're back online — handy at parks and recreation grounds with patchy signal.

Can I stream to YouTube and Facebook? +

Yes — Cricket Scorer streams directly to YouTube Live and Facebook Live using your RTMP key. No OBS, no laptop, no third-party encoder needed.

Do I need to download anything from an app store? +

No — Cricket Scorer is a PWA. Open it in your phone browser and add it to your home screen. No Play Store or App Store needed.

Can we use our own rules, like one-hand-one-bounce? +

Yes — set your own overs, players per side and scoring conventions. Cricket Scorer doesn't force league formats on a friendly Sunday knockabout.
